Marriage Mentoring Team
Description: This is a great ministry for middle-aged or older couples who -have a desire to help other couples in building stronger marriages. We believe unhealthy marriages are one of the greatest hindrances to spiritual health of couples and thus impacting the health of the body. Our hope is that we can create an atmosphere of trust where any couple who feels led to seek out a mentoring relationship for a period of time would be willing to ask for help from a mentoring couple. We also would like to offer a mentoring relationship to engaged couples as a way to prepare for marriage.
Ways to Serve
Mentoring Couple: Volunteering to serve with a pool of couples who will be called on as the need arises to establish a mentoring relationship with a couple in need for a period of time lasting from 3 months to one year. Mentoring couples would participate in a one time training opportunity and periodic trainings as scheduled in advance. We are looking for spiritually and emotionally healthy couples who have gained wisdom over the years in the area of marriage.
Engagement Mentors: Volunteer to serve with a pool of couples who will be called on as the need arises to establish a mentoring relationship with an engaged couple for a period of 4-6 months. These mentoring couples would schedule a series of get together in a variety of settings to get to know an engaged couple and talk about lessons learned in marriage as well as discuss certain aspects of marriage. Volunteers might use special inventories or have couples read certain resources.
Marriage Mentor Facilitator: Looking for someone who can shepherd the mentors and facilitate training and arrange for mentors assigned to couples in need.
Spiritual Gifts/Talents/Attributes: Wisdom, Mercy, Pastor-Shepherd, Exhortation, Relational, Outgoing
